Anybody know if the FDA has actually initiated the ban on flavored cigarettes? I gave Slade my last pack of clove cigs, and damned if I won't be hella pissed off if that was my last chance. I only smoke one or two on the rare occasion I go to a club. I understand why the ban is happening, and I agree with it. Clove cigs are the only kind I'm interested in at all. So if they're banned, I won't smoke even a little.


Still, very frustrating.

0.0       THERE'S A MAN IN THE HOUSE. Last week Jessica and I opened our door and our guest bedroom to her brother Slade. He's had... a bit of a falling out (to phrase it nicely) with their mom and asked if our longstanding offer to live with us was still an option. We've only got half of his stuff moved in, but so far he's fitting in well, and seems to be happy. He's a really nice guy, clean, quiet and very courteous. It's still strange to me to have someone else in the house since I've only lived with women for the last 6 years and with Jessica working nights now, I've gotten really used to being alone with the dogs. But he's done more then his share of keeping up the house, and we've worked out him getting a car and other money things. He's trying so hard to not be a burden on us and so far he hasn't. Part of the problems he was having with his mom was that she still treated him like a kid, dictating every move he made. He's 18 and I believe that at that age, you should be able to make choices and live with the consequences if they weren't correct.

So, in our house he's treated like an adult. If he wants to stay out till 5am with his friends, that's fine, he's the one who will have to work an 8 hour shift outside on only 4 hours sleep. I don't see any need to mother him.

But, like I said, he's kind, loves the dogs, helps out around the house without being asked and is wonderful about checking to see if Jessica and I are okay with things (like his girlfriend coming over, or a few of the guys hanging out on the patio). It's a change, but I think it's going well.

Their mom is less then pleased and told Jessica and I to "send him home" like he was a runaway five your old. We told her that where he lived was his choice and that we would never turn him away. Things have been tense with her since then, but I suspect after another week goes by, she'll settle down and hopefully start to think about why he left her house and look at her actions. It's doubtful she'll ever "get it", but I really think that time will help them both heal their relationship.

- UTD can't get their shit together, so I'm gonna have to go handle things in person. Ugh.

- Jessica starts EMT training July 7th. *\o/*

- Izzy and I had several great runs last Sunday at agility. I'm going to try to get Jess to come this week and record a little so I can show us off. :D

- My summer reading list is boring. Recommend me something?

- My summer knitting is kicking ass. Finished one market bag and 75% done with another.

- TruBlood is back! Bill annoys me, as always. Sookie reminds me why I like Roe and Harper's character's better then hers. :/ Eric is cute with his new haircut, and damn if they aren't deviating from the book plot. DISAPPROVING FAN IS DISAPPROVING.

- We're house hunting. For reals. More about that as things progress.

- Summer movies... really looking forward to The Time Traveler's Wife and oddly enough, My Sister's Keeper, though I've not read that book. Harry Potter comes out too and I'm looking forward to a romp through the snark field. :D


Okay, enough for now. Off to nom chicken and watch Britain's Next Top Model!*

This is surly all over LJ, but I have to share it again. Best damn thing on the internet ever.

While driving home through a isolated small town (Denton for the record) a guy on a motorcycle buzzed me at a stoplight and indicated that he wanted me to roll my window down.

"Do you like fags, Mame? We don't like fags."

I realize he is commenting on my bumper stickers which include my Peacekeeper sticker, the HRC equal sign and THIS ONE, which I love.

So I said "Fuck you" and drove off, startled but slightly amused. Clearly, I have been a victim of the homosexual agenda, which is no longer about equal rights and raising a family, but is now an intense, focused mission to pro-gay sticker of every car in America (and the Virgin Islands).


The gays got me. x_x




Seriously though, I was the only one in the car, so I would think it was safe to assume that I do like fags. I guess the ma'me was just Southern Hospitality and all. Also, I have to wonder who the "we" was considering he was alone on his bike.

Oh Chiana. How much do I love her? LOTS. I liked this one because I needed a simply stated swear word icon for those times when it's bad, but not catistropic. I like that you can look at this as a sexy icon as well, considering that she's doing what the icon says. ^_^

Totally snagged fom shadadukal , this is my favorite Willow/Tara icon out of the bunch that I have saved. They still have such a hold on my soul. This icon is from 'Seeing Red' and only twice have I watched that episode the whole way through. Normally I just stop it before.... you know. That thing that could not phisically happen to Tara because the gun was fired in the backyard and the window it came in through faces the front yard. I know my Summers house people.

Any specific storyline ideas, or general feelings involved with RPing: For years I was under the impression that RP was for mass groups and that wasn't something that interested me. Now I'm friends with a gal that has a single RP partner and she's found endless joy writing with her. And now I'm jealous. So hello, I'm ladycallie and I'm a John/Aeryn shipper. I like hurt/comfort in ungodly ways, and porn is yummy. I've been writing fics since I knew how to type.

Since I'm new to RP, what I think I'm looking for is someone to simply play with. Like I said above, I'm a h/c junkie and I'd love to play around with someone. I favor Aeryn more as a character that I like to hurt, but in the past I've written more from John's POV. I'm comfortable with either of them.

This doesn't have to be all whumping either. I'm really rather open to anything. I love to write and I've got plenty of time, I'd just like to have a buddy to inspire me. I've had a few master!plots in my mind but no one to help me develop them. My other fandoms are: Buffy/Angel, New Doctor Who/Torchwood, Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice, The Tudors, Queer as Folk, The L Word, Law and Order: SVU, Dark Angel and a few assorted others.

Unnnn.... I'm dying you guys. After a nap, several sodas, and about eight Advil my head still hurts. It's the back of my head and my neck is all out of whack... :( My vision is a tab blurred too. I know all this is leading up to my period starting but does it have to be so bad?
